In short Probably with your homes water systems with the changes in how municipalities deliver water to you in most cases you will need one or both of these period the water pressure in your home should never be above 80 psi period due to constantly changing municipalities and constant building in our systems pressures and Northeast Ohio can come in above 150 psi. A new water heater should never be installed on a system above 80 psi not only is that code but that would void the warranty of any water heater manufacturer. When your pressure is above 80 psi a water heater specialist can install a pressure reducing valve on your main line throttling house pressure to a safe and manageable level. Which brings us to our next point which is check valves and the importance of expansion tanks.

anytime there is some sort of check valve in your system an expansion tank is required per code and per any water heater manufacturer this tank must be charged according to house pressure and mounted vertically and support it this again not done properlyWill drastically reduce a water heater's lifespan and void warranty. Examples of check valves in your system would bea new water meter a dual check valve a backflow preventer a newer water softener or a pressure reducing valve to name a few.

it should be standard procedure to check all of these things as well as ventilation before quoting or installing a new water heater. at Makeithot Water heaters hot water is our passion and we take various seriously the details surrounding the installation or repair of a water heater.Whether that be a standard tank type water heater, tankless water heater, hybrid heat pump water heater or power vent hot water is what we do and we do it right!
